Manchester High School for Girls, SEN & Corporate Moves
Overview
In early May 2023, Redbridge was approached by 10architect to inquire about the feasibility of an ambitious redevelopment scheme for Manchester High School for Girls.
The proposed scheme involved the creation of corporate offices and an SEN facility during the summer holidays and Autumn Term.
Project
Given the rapid pace of the project, Redbridge collaborated seamlessly with 10architect and the entire professional team to price the works as the drawings were being finalised.
Details
Despite the challenges faced by all parties involved, the scheme was sufficiently developed to commence on-site on the commencement of the summer holidays. The refurbishment and construction of several new corporate offices and the main reception space were successfully achieved within the constraints of the summer holidays.
Ultimately, due to the hard work of the client, the professional team, and Redbridge, the school’s new SEN facility was delivered on budget and three weeks ahead of schedule.
This achievement was particularly noteworthy considering the stringent safeguarding requirements imposed, which necessitated constant supervision of all site operatives, regardless of their Enhanced DBS certification, unless accompanied by one of three designated safeguarding escorts.
